SYSCOM’s client is seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager to assist with the management, communication and coordination of a variety of internal client projects, the day to day management client’s work, and all other related work projects. This Senior Project Manager will have experience working with the Public Safety and will have a PMI PMP certification.
This is an onsite position in the Towson, Maryland area. Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following: - Management of specific project work.
- Performs day ‐ to ‐ day management of the project, identifies issues and risks and recommends possible issue and risk mitigation strategies associated with the project.
- Ensures that the work performed is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and on budget.
- Identifies critical paths, tasks, dates, testing, and acceptance criteria. Provides solutions to improve efficiency (e.g., reduce costs while maintaining or improving performance levels).
- Monitors issues and provides resolutions for up ‐ to ‐ date status reports.
- Demonstrates excellent writing and oral communications skills.
- Develops meeting agenda and meeting handouts.
Minimum Qualifications – must meet ALL experience requirements below: - Minimum seven (7) years successful Project Management experience managing large, high profile and sensitive projects
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Project Management Professional Certification from PMI - current & active
- Previous experience managing business process implementations, software and/or hardware implementation and upgrading projects using Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies
- Experience creating and managing project documentation as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
- Experience in creating and managing project deliverables and documents (SDLC and PMI)
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Project, Excel, WORD)
- Experience with Executive level presentations and communication
- Exceptional organization and coordination skills
- Ability to work five days per week onsite in Towson, MD 21204 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills
The candidate MUST currently possess a Project, Program, Portfolio, or Agile management certificate from the Project Management Institute and submit the copy of the certification(s).
Preferred Qualifications - Experience managing projects using Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint
- Previous experience working in a government entity (Federal, State or Local)
- Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background check
- Experience with development, management, communication and support of public safety systems
