Now Hiring: Grower Assistant (Horticulture)

Location: Strader’s Grove City Wholesale
Status: Full-Time | Year-Round
Reports to: Head Grower

Strader’s Garden Centers Grove City Wholesale location is seeking a  Grower Assistant to support daily greenhouse and growing operations. This role is hands-on and detail-driven, requiring solid horticultural knowledge and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.

About the Role

The Grower Assistant supports daily greenhouse and growing operations, working hands-on with crops while learning the science, strategy, and timing behind successful production. This is a growth role for someone who wants to deepen their horticultural expertise and build a long-term career in growing.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with crop production from propagation through finish
• Monitor plant health, irrigation, fertility, and environmental conditions
• Identify and respond to crop issues including pests, disease, and nutritional deficiencies
• Support integrated pest management (IPM) practices
• Collect, track, and maintain accurate crop and production records
• Work closely with the Head Grower to execute production plans
• Help maintain clean, organized, and efficient growing spaces
• Support seasonal production demands as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Degree or coursework in Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field
  (or equivalent hands-on growing experience)
• Ability to recognize problems early and take appropriate action
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and get your hands dirty
