Event Administrative Assistant- Temp Position
Location: Houston, TX 77042
Compensation & Schedule
• $25/hr
• Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Start Date: Immediate upon completion of onboarding
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-level administrative support to leadership and staff
Monitor and respond to emails in shared/general mailboxes
Prepare, post, and update board materials using BoardEffect
Maintain and update meeting specifications
Proofread and edit materials for internal and external distribution
Collect, track, and report statistical data related to events or organizational initiatives
Assist with event coordination, including scheduling, vendor communication, and attendee logistics
Manage calendars, schedule meetings as needed
Assist in preparing presentations, agendas, and reports
Serve as a liaison between departments and external stakeholders as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Exceptional organizational and time management skills – with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong proofreading and attention to detail – grammar, punctuation, formatting, and consistency
Event planning and coordination experience – ability to manage logistics, vendors, and timelines (a plus)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information
Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Proactive problem-solver
Team player with a collaborative mindset
Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities
Core Tools & Systems
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat – including editing, combining files, form creation, and commenting tools
PowerPoint skills – strong formatting and presentation design skills desired
Preferred Skills
Experience with board management platforms (e.g., BoardEffect, Diligent, or similar) is a plus
Event planning and coordination experience – ability to manage logistics, vendors, and timelines (a plus)
