POSITION: Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Instructor

LOCATION: NDSCS – Wahpeton and Fargo, North Dakota

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 9-month, benefited position

JOB SUMMARY: Responsibilities include teaching and developing curriculum for the AMT program courses that meet FAA Part 147 Certification. Develop project timelines with objectives and support requirements with NDSCS and accrediting agencies. Additional duties include student advising, assessment, student recruitment, and participation in assigned departmental, divisional, and college committees and activities.

SALARY: Starting salary $59,163, commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements

• Must support the mission, vision, values of NDSCS

• Hold FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

• FAA Part 147 instructor

• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Computer literate

• Ability to work effectively and professionally with students and staff in a team setting

• Flexibility to meet the needs of students

• Willingness to teach students with varying levels of ability

• Able and willing to keep current in the field

• Willingness to teach distance education as future needs arise

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s in Applied Science Degree
• Experience in the following areas:
  • Writing operations manuals
  • Developing training curriculum
  • Training facility preparation
  • Equipment acquisition
  • Marketing and recruitment strategies
  • Accreditation requirements
  • Learning management systems
  • Partnership development
