Accounting Specialist
Location: Des Plaines, IL
Compensation: $55,000 – $60,000 annually

The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and record daily accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with month-end closing procedures.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial data is accurate and up to date.
• Generate and distribute customer invoices; follow up on outstanding balances.
• Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
• Support the Accounting Manager with budget preparation and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Provide support for annual audits and tax filings.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range: $55,000 – $60,000, commensurate with experience.
